FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

F5 Sponsors Seattle’s Annual Bike to Work Day

F5 supports national campaign to promote the environmental and lifestyle benefits of bicycle commuting

SEATTLE, May 15, 2012
F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, is the principal sponsor of this year’s Bike to Work Day, taking place on Friday, May 18, 2012. F5 Bike to Work Day, a Cascade Bicycle Club event, headlines the many National Bike Month activities held throughout May. The goal of the event is to help community members experience first-hand the health and environmental benefits of biking to work and to encourage city officials to support the creation of additional bicycle facilities, such as bike lanes and parking racks, throughout the region.
“F5 Bike to Work Day is a great opportunity to highlight the advantages of cycling for area commuters, as well as the community at large,” said Dan Matte, EVP of Marketing and Business Development at F5, and longtime cycling enthusiast. “As one of Seattle’s premier technology companies, we hope to inspire other local businesses and employers to institute programs that can make positive contributions to the region’s environmental efforts, as well as individuals’ health and fitness goals.”
To help make biking to work attractive to its employees, F5 offers numerous benefits, including bike racks, shower facilities, towel service, and a monthly stipend of $100 for those using alternative means of transportation for their commutes.
F5 Bike to Work Day officially kicks off with a 7:30 a.m. bike rally at Seattle City Hall featuring special guest speakers, including Mayor Mike McGinn. Between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., riders can stop by one of dozens of commute stationshosted by Cascade Bicycle Club throughout the Puget Sound region to get a free bicycle checkup, enter a free drawing, and pick up a free water bottle, snacks, maps, and other items. The day’s events end with a bicycle block party in the heart of Ballard, beginning at 4 p.m.
“Last year, over 20,000 Seattle-area residents participated in Bike to Work Day, and we look forward to another strong turnout this year,” said Stephanie Frans, Manager of Commute Programs at Cascade Bicycle Club. “With support from leading companies like F5, we’re able to provide great opportunities for the region’s employers to learn more about implementing sustainable commute programs at their organization. Through the combined efforts of F5 and other civic and business leaders, events like this help raise awareness and galvanize support for improved resources for cyclists throughout the city and region.”
