Pumped Storage Hydropower

#DidYouKnow pumped storage #hydropower (PSH) accounts for 97% of #America’s utility-scale electrical storage? It’s one reason why hydropower plays a key role for the #electrical #grid, offering flexibility and rapid response to fluctuating power needs. PSH uses pumps and turbines to move #water into higher elevation reservoirs at times of low electricity demand. Then, during periods of high demand, water is released into lower reservoirs and used to generate #energy. Learn more in this EERE Blog post:http://go.usa.gov/3BuwG.
