Due to its remote location, the #US Virgin Islands has relied on oil to produce #electricity, which causes major price fluctuations due to shortages, weather, or other factors.#Solar plants, like this one located on St. Thomas, have helped them reduce their fossil fuel use by 20% over the last five years—with their goal of a 60% reduction by 2025 in reach with more renewable energy planned.
